What is AI Office?
The AI Office is the European Commission function responsible for helping implement, monitor and supervise the EU AI Act, in particular for general-purpose AI models, and for contributing to AI governance at Union level. It works alongside national authorities in the Member States.
Article 64 of the EU AI Act establishes the AI Office. Among other tasks it supervises providers of general-purpose AI models and supports the development of codes of practice and templates. National market surveillance authorities handle most other enforcement.
