The AI System is the central governed object: the business use of AI whose purpose, impact, controls, proof, and decisions must remain understandable.
What the record captures
- Business purpose, owner, provider/deployer role, lifecycle, deployment, and jurisdictions.
- Models, providers, data, affected people, vendors, dependencies, and human oversight.
- Classification, governance status, technical documentation, controls, assessments, evidence, findings, risks, decisions, and monitoring.
Why it matters
A model alone is rarely enough context for governance. The same model can create very different obligations when used for clinical support, recruitment, or a low-impact internal assistant.
