DPIA

A Data Protection Impact Assessment reviews processing that may create a high risk to people's privacy. In AIGovernr each DPIA belongs to one AI System.

When it applies

The Governance plan marks the DPIA workspace as required based on the system's data, purpose and affected people. Whether a DPIA is legally required is a judgement for your privacy lead; AIGovernr does not replace legal analysis.

Run a DPIA

  1. 1Choose New DPIA, pick the AI System, and choose Create draft.
  2. 2Work through the six steps: System & purpose, Data processing, Necessity & proportionality, Risks to individuals, Safeguards & residual risk, and Privacy consultation. Answers marked Suggested from existing records are drawn from the system record.
  3. 3Choose Finalize DPIA.
  4. 4Choose Generate DPIA report for a PDF, and Save report as Evidence to link it to the system.
  5. 5Use Start reassessment when the processing changes.
