Technical evaluations

A Technical Evaluation measures observable AI or system behavior against a defined method, dataset, threshold, and acceptance context.

Define before execution

  • State the behavior being measured and why it matters to the decision.
  • Record the evaluation method, dataset or sample, relevant population, metric, and threshold.
  • Identify limitations, owners, execution environment, and version of the evaluated system.

Interpret results

A metric is evidence only within its defined context. Record observed results, variance from the threshold, known limitations, and the governance conclusion. A failed threshold can create a Finding and Risk but should not silently decide approval outside the applicable policy.

Generic example

A sample decision-support system requires a minimum performance threshold for a defined user population. The evaluation records the expected threshold, observed result, dataset scope, limitations, and follow-up action.
