Governance plan vs Playbook

A Governance plan shows what applies to one system. A Playbook is a reusable sequence of steps for carrying out a known scenario.

Governance plan

  • Built from the project's frameworks and the system's facts.
  • Answers: what governance applies to this system, and how far along is it?

Playbook

  • A predefined sequence of steps with owners, evidence and findings.
  • Answers: how do we carry out this scenario, step by step?
  • Example: the EU AI Act — High Risk AI System playbook.

Use them together

The Governance processes card on a system's Overview tab recommends playbooks that fit its risk tier. Starting one coordinates the work; it does not change which governance applies.
